2. Verify Your Coinbase Account
To send/receive crypto, you do need to verify your account. This verification is done through uploading a photo of your driver's license or other state issued ID.
To do this, you will click "Send/Receive" once logged into Coinbase
A popup will appear that prompts you to upload a photo of your ID (front and back)
This can take 1-2 business days to complete
If the image of your ID is clear and matches the information in your account, verification will be completed in minutes.
3. Find Your Coinbase Wallet Address
Crytpocurrency is held in a wallet, and every crypto wallet has a specific address.
In order to transfer crypto from one location to another, you will need this address, which can be found in Coinbase quickly and easily.
In the "Home Tab" of the Coinbase app, tap "Receive" at the top (on the desktop version, click the "Send/Receive" button)
A new screen (popup on the desktop version) will appear with a QR code and an address
Beneath the address, you will see a cryptocurrency
Tap the box to select the crypto you wish to transfer
Copy this address with the "copy" function on your phone
You will use this once you initiate a transfer from MetaMask
Always double check to make sure you are sending cryptocurrencies to the correct wallet type.
4. Send Crypto From MetaMask To Coinbase Wallet
With MetaMask, you can actually set your fee to one of the 3 options:
Low: Gas fee that is below market value (You can save money but your transfer can take up to 6 hours, MetaMask also warns members that they cannot guarantee this transfer goes through)
Market: Gas fee that is at market value
Aggressive: Gas fee that is above market value (This gives your transfer the highest probability of a quick transfer)
Here's how to send crypto from MetaMask to Coinbase:
Open the MetaMask app or the Google extension
Tap or click on "Send"
Paste in the wallet address you copied from Coinbase
Ensure the asset selected matches the wallet address you copied in Coinbase (Ethereum and Ethereum or Bitcoin and Bitcoin for example)
Enter in the amount you would like to transfer
You can click "Max" if you'd like to transfer all of a particular asset
Click "Next"
Ensure the information is correct, including the gas fee, wallet address, and amount of crypto
If you want to edit the Gas fee, tap on "Edit" in the corner of the fee section
Click "Confirm"
